Jali Campaign - Support Girls Education

Girls in public schools of Tanzania skips schools because they face problems of purchasing the sanitary pads. Financial stability limits them and hence they just move out of schools without any further education. At TAI Tanzania, we are an NGO where one of the projects is to provide sanitary pads to 12 girls in government schools for an entire year. We manage to get donations from visitors in supermarkets who buy sanitary pads and drop in the Binti Box around the counter. Binti Box means a girl Box in the local Swahili language. GOAL: This year 2017, we have a target to reach 5000 pads for 1500 girls. Until now, we have managed to raise 400 pads. We are looking forward to address this issue online too. Target: 10 public schools, and 120 girls to receive pads for an entire year. Furthermore, educating these youth in the month of July to August in the subjects of Reproductive Health and Menstrual Hygiene by volunteers and interns both local and international is also done. We get these young minds to be critical thinkers and empower them where class facilitators create awareness and teach them about all these issues faced.
